St. Christopher’s Platinum Jubilee: 1953-2023

St. Christopher’s has been a visible sign of God’s Presence in Hinchley Wood for 70 years. We think that is worth celebrating, so 2023 is our year of JUBILEE.

The main events of the year celebrate the past, present and future of St. Christopher’s Church.

• Sunday 5th February 2023 – We will celebrate a special service to commemorate the Anniversary of the day the Bishop of Guildford consecrated St. Christopher’s Church and we became a Parish in our own right.
• Saturday 15th & Sunday 16th July 2023 – We will hold a Summer Festival with all sorts of activities over the weekend to celebrate St. Christopher’s present. This weekend is the closest practical date to our patronal feast of St. Christopher which always falls in the School Holidays (25th July).
• Sunday 15th October 2023 – We will hold a commissioning service where we will commit ourselves to continuing the Mission of Christ and his Church here in Hinchley Wood. The Mission is not over, and in every generation the Good News of Jesus Christ needs to be proclaimed in new ways to reach a ever changing society and population.
