Christenings (Baptism)

Congratulations!  We’re delighted you’re thinking of a Christening at which your child will be baptised.  Your child is precious to you and precious to God. At baptism you promise to raise your child to know God loves them, and to help them to follow Jesus as a member of the Church.

In baptism, you as parents are: thanking God for his gift of life, making a decision to start your child on the journey of faith and asking for the Church’s support.

For your child, baptism marks the start of a journey of faith, which involves turning away from all that is evil, turning towards Christ and becoming a member of the local and worldwide Christian family.

You can find out more about what baptism involves from the Church of England Christenings Website.

If you don’t usually come to church we encourage you to attend a service. Find out more about our regular services.

Baptisms in Hinchley Wood usually take place on the first or fourth Sunday of the month, at the main service at 10am.   If you have any questions, or to book a baptism, please contact the Associate Minister, Rev Caroline Mullins associate@stchristopherschurch.org.uk

She will also contact you to arrange baptism preparation.

Our church hall is available to hire for celebrations after the baptism service.
