Week of Prayer for Christian Unity – 18th to 25th January 2025

There will be a united service at 4pm at Our Lady of Lourdes on Sunday 19th January to be held as part of our commitment to the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

The theme for the week is: “Do you believe this?” the question Jesus posed to Martha (John 11:26). This year’s celebration has been prepared by the ecumenical community in Bose, northern Italy. It also notes the fact that it is 1,700 years since the Council of Nicea, and we affirm our faith together reciting the Nicene Creed.

As we join with other Christians around the world for the Week of Prayer we pray that our hearts will be open to see and hear and to discern the steps we can take as individuals and communities to heal divisions between us and build a better future for everyone.
